It is not uncommon for gamblers to experience a disruption in game play when a casino is making changes to the gaming floor. This could be the addition of a restaurant, more gaming tables or bathroom areas. Popular casinos must make updates and create spaces that are appealing to visitors, both regulars and the vacationers. In Las Vegas, The Mirage is currently undergoing construction that can be quite disruptive during game play if you plan on visiting the facility soon.
The construction at The Mirage seems to be taking place everywhere. The major renovation taking place first was the poker room. The old poker room offered 19 gaming tables while the new space will only house 12 tables. To occupy space from the missing tables, the casino officials decided to move the casino cage to this area. Players who are taking part in poker gaming can easily access the cashier to get started.
Where the cashier cage formerly stood is now under construction but it unclear as to what this area will be used for. The high limits slots area of the casino gaming floor has been closed down and the table games were moved to where the baccarat game room used to be. Baccarat players will now have to move to the high limits room to play the game.
Due to the construction, the gaming tables on the casino floor are packed pretty tight. If you do not like being seated close to people, you may not care for the gaming as of right now during construction. The craps tables have also been moved to accommodate the work taking place and can be found just outside the old poker room which is near the Beatles Love Theater.
A new upscale bar is in the works for the empty gaming space of the facility and will offer a luxury experience. Custom cocktails and drinks will be offered in this area. The casino will also be providing a piano player for musical entertainment.
Minimal information is provided by The Mirage with signs stating: New Dreams Are Under Construction. Please pardon our dust, and thank you for your patience. While most people can overlook simply construction, if you visit the casino on a regular basis you may find you want to visit another property until the changes are complete.
Players have not been very happy as to the cramped gaming spaces and all the changes while construction is taking place. The casino of course will be nice once construction is complete, but a date has yet to be released as to when the changes will be complete and the construction will be over.
Another change to the property is the volcano show. The show is a popular activity for visitors to Las Vegas as the show is free. The show will be cut back to taking place Sunday to Thursday with an 8pm and 9pm show. On Friday and Saturday the volcano will erupt at 10pm only. Patrons will not be too happy to hear about the cutbacks of this show as it was a favorite among visitors.
