Green Valley Ranch Resort & Casino Review

Although the Green Valley Ranch was built and currently owned by a company known as the king of the locals casino market in Las Vegas, Station Casinos, the appeal of Green Valley extends far beyond the local market.

Located in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson, in the planned community of Green Valley, some still consider this a locals casino of sort, one primarily catering to residents of the part of Las Vegas that it is located in, the Green Valley Ranch brings in a good amount of visitors from outside the city as well.

The neighborhood itself is pretty upscale, similar to Station Casinos’ other upscale property, the Red Rock Resort in Summerlin, another affluent neighborhood in the Las Vegas area. This property is also designed to attract tourists, in contrast to the company’s typical property which are more neighborhood casinos, although some of these are impressive enough in both size and quality.

The Green Valley Ranch was constructed in 2000, and in 2004, the area was expanded to include 104,000 square feet of retail shops, making Green Valley Ranch even more appealing to locals and also allowing their out of town guests greater nearby shopping opportunities.

The Station Casinos brand is featured alongside the Green Valley Ranch brand, as Stations Casinos has built up a very good reputation in Las Vegas and just having their name on the sign as well is seen as appealing.

Green Valley Ranch is done up in a Mediterranean style theme, with a more conservative look than most casinos here, but one that projects a lot of elegance, and this is a pretty elegant resort overall, especially for one that some consider a locals casino.

As testimony to the appeal and success of this resort, it boasts one of the largest casino floors in Las Vegas at 143,000 square feet, in spite of only having a hotel with 495 rooms, a fraction of the size of the larger casino hotels here.

So the locals indeed do like to play here, although with almost 500 rooms they also get quite a few tourists as well. Henderson itself is a fairly large city, the second largest in Nevada with almost 300,000 people, so there are plenty of locals to draw from.

This is as player friendly an operation as they come, and Station Casinos don’t rely on hype to promote their casinos, they do it with better casinos and rewards.

These include some of the best paying slots around, and with such a high percentage of walk up traffic, they need to really keep their players happy so they will keep coming.

That’s what’s great about neighborhood casinos, they do mostly repeat business, in contrast to the big resorts on the strip which are much more hit and run affairs, and at Green Valley they particularly need to make sure you are happy and will come back tomorrow or next week or whenever.

So there’s a large selection of slot games here to make sure you get lots of variety, as well as the best paying video poker machines in town, including some that pay out 100%, and many 99.9% payout ones.
