The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has a new home in the Great Lake State. This week the WSOP officially launched real money online poker in the state of Michigan. The WSOP will be the third legal online poker operator in the state. Players must be at least 21 years of age in order to play.

Michigan legalized online real money poker in January of last year. The WSOP was expected to be ready for launch in 2021 but was delayed for unknown reasons. Regardless of the source of the delay, WSOP is now live in Michigan. The launch has been widely praised by the poker community, including former WSOP champion Joe Cada.

Cada is a native of Michigan and took to social media to show his support of the online poker website. The WSOP has not yet announced any gold bracelet events for the Wolverine State. However, it did pull out all the stops with its welcome bonuses. WSOP Michigan will join an already successful Michigan online betting market.

WSOP Officially Launches in Michigan

After months of delays, WSOP has finally launched in Michigan. According to a WSOP spokesperson, Michigan is viewed as a “special market” by the online poker giant. This is due in part to the state producing two past champions WSOP world champions.

Currently, online poker players in Michigan are limited to only in-state competition. However, with WSOP now at the table, many are hopeful that interstate online poker will soon be a reality. To do so, Michigan would have to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement. So far, other states such as Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware are already part of the MSIGA. WSOP has online poker rooms in all MSIGA states.

The WSOP is not the first online poker provider in the Wolverine State. Two other online poker sites beat WSOP to the punch. After real money online poker was legalized in Michigan last year, both PokerStars and BetMGM both launched their own websites.

What Real Money Poker Games Are Available Online?

The delayed launch of WSOP Michigan has the online poker giant playing form behind. However, the WSOP can easily make up ground on its competitors. The name alone should attract new players. Also, the various opportunities to win real money should help keep players around.

Part of the popularity of the WSOP online is the wide variety of poker tournaments the site offers. WSOP offers players a chance to compete in real money, live no-limit Texas Hold’em games. They also offer pot-limit Omaha games. In addition to single games, there are weekly tournaments with guarantees that start at $50,000.

WSOP also offers smaller daily tournaments and BLAST poker options as well. Another reason WSOP online is so popular is that offers plenty of opportunities to win a shot at gold bracelet events in Las Vegas.

WSOP Welcome Bonuses in Michigan

Another reason WSOP is confident about a successful launch is its welcome bonuses. Nothing helps attract new players quite like free money. The welcome bonuses start as soon as a player registers a new account on the WSOP website.

According to a press release from the WSOP, players can get up to $50 in bonus funds. The first $25 is automatically awarded to the player for registering their account. Payers receive the second half of the bonus after they make their first deposit of at least $10. The $50 in cash is double the free play bonus of BetMGM Poker Michigan. PokerStars Michigan also offers $50 worth of free play bonuses in the form of Spin & Go and MTT tickets.

Speaking of making a deposit, WSOP Michigan is offering players a deposit match bonus. The first deposit match bonus is capped at $1,000, which is $400 higher than PokerStars Michigan and BetMGM Poker Michigan. The bonuses do not stop there either. New customers also receive access to introductory freerolls after they make their first qualifying deposit.

Online poker players in Michigan can rejoice at last. After a lengthy delay, the WSOP officially launched its real money online poker site earlier this week. WSOP Michigan joins PokerStars and BetMGM as online poker sites in the Wolverine State. Despite the late start, WSOP representatives are confident they can compete thanks to their variety of welcome bonuses.

WSOP Michigan offers players another well-known brand as an option for real money online poker. The site will have a large selection of daily and weekly tournaments available. On top of winning real money, players can also win a chance to compete in Gold Bracelet events in Las Vegas.

To help pull in new players, the WSOP is offering plenty of new player bonuses. Their $1,000 first deposit match bonus towers over similar bonuses offered by in-state competitors. Also, WSOP is offering up to $50 in free play bonuses. With WSOP now operating in the state, players are hopeful that Michigan will soon join the MSIGA. If Michigan joins the agreement, interstate poker games would become available to Michigan players.
