The Oneida Nation officially launched its retail sportsbook at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay, Wisconsin last Thursday.
The launch was attended by Oneida Tribe leaders and casino officials who said that the lounge isn’t just a sports betting shop but also a place where guests can enjoy a wide array of experiences with amenities that include wall-to-wall television coverage of sporting events, betting machines, and a bar with several food and drink options.
Labeled as having a user-friendly system, the software and infrastructure for the sportsbook was developed in partnership with International Gaming Technology (IGT).
First Legal Sportsbook in Wisconsin
Last November, the Oneida Nation opened a temporary sportsbook inside its main casino near Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport. The sportsbook was the first of its kind to offer legal wagers on Wisconsin’s three pro sports teams- Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers, and all other pro sports. Betting on college events are also allowed except for games involving the state’s college teams.
The permanent sportsbook, which is located at the former Lombardi Sports Bar and Grill which closed during the pandemic, has 60 televisions showing sports, open concept pub tables, couches, and group areas. It had a rushed “soft launch” last February just before Super Bowl LVI with Oneida looking to capture a piece of the pie of the most heavily-bet game of the year in the United States.
Oneida Casino Sportsbook Mobile App
Last February, the tribe complemented its retail sportsbook at the Oneida Casino by launching the first mobile sports betting option in the Badger State via its Oneida Casino Sportsbook App. With the app, sports bettors in the state are now able to place mobile sports bets at the tribe’s gaming venues and select locations.
The geofenced Mobile App also works at the Oneida’s one-stop rest shop locations which offer slots gaming, convenience items, and gasoline. The locations include HWY 54 One-Stop, Four Paths One-Stop, Westwind One-Stop, Packerland Casino & One-Stop, HWY 29 Travel Center Casino & One-Stop, HWY E & HWY EE One-Stop, and Larsen One-Stop.
