Hard Rock is Indiana’s Top Earning Casino for the 5th Consecutive Month

Hard Rock Atlantic City
Hard Rock Casino continues to be the pace-setter in the Hoosier State.

According to the data released by the Indiana Gaming Commission last Friday, Hard Rock was the highest earning casino in the state, beating out perennial topnotcher Horseshoe casino yet again.

For the fifth straight month, Hard Rock bettered the performance of Horseshoe Casino in terms of “win” or the revenue generated by the casino after paying off bettors’ winnings.

Hard Rock Tops Total Win from Slots and Table Games

IGC data revealed that Hard Rock had a total win of $31.6 million from slot machines and table games during the month of February 2022 which was a 4.7% increase from its January figures despite the previous month having three more calendar days. The amount was 12.8% better than Horseshoe’s February win of $28.7 million, which was up by 2.8% from the company’s January numbers.

Hard Rock generated a total of $52.5 million in table game wagers in February as compared to only $30.2 million at Horseshoe. Hard Rock nearly tripled Horseshoe’s Baccarat totals at $29.8 million to $10.4 million with wins of $4.1 million and $1.4 million, respectively. For the second straight month since opening, Hard Rock also bettered Horseshoe in slot machine play with $223.5 million versus Horseshoe’s total of $221.4 million for the month of February 2022.

Ameristar Casino Still Leads Indiana Sports Betting Industry

As usual, Ameristar Casino continues to be the top sports betting casino in the Hoosier State. IGC data showed that Ameristar generated a total of $121.5 million in betting handle for February 2022 which was nearly $20 million better than second-ranked Blue Chip. Both Ameristar and Blue Chip are partnered with the top sports betting companies in the United States with the former affiliated with Draft Kings and the latter with FanDuel.

East Chicago’s Ameristar also had slot machine and table game wins of $18.1 million in February 2022 which was 11.1% better than its January 2022 figures. On the other hand, Michigan City’s Blue Chip tallied $10.7 million in slot machine and table game wins for February 2022, also up by 11% on a month to month basis.

Statewide Win Almost Doubled Last Year’s Figures

Overall, the statewide casino win for February 2022 was $201.3 million which was a 5.9% increase from the previous month’s totals of $190 million. However, compared to the COVID-19 pandemic affected February 2021 numbers, it represented a increase of 48.5% or nearly double.

Indiana’s sports betting handle however, took a dive in February 2022 with a total of $409.1 million in total wagers. This was significantly lower than the January 2022 total of $500.1 million or a 22.3% drop. Industry experts however are confident that the Hoosier State will bounce back in March with the NCAA’s March Madness a bigger betting event in Indiana than the NFL’s Super Bowl.
