Washington Capitals Sign Jersey Patch Deal With Caesars Sportsbook

Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced a first of its kind partnership with Caesars Entertainment on Thursday.

The multi-year agreement will place the Caesars Sportsbook logo as a patch on the Capitals home and third jerseys. These jersey will be worn during the team’s games which will be played at the Capital One Arena beginning the 2022 season.

Said MSE president of business operations and chief commercial officer Jim Van Stone:

“Following the successful launch of Caesars Sportsbook adjacent to Capital One Arena last spring, we are thrilled to introduce Caesars Sportsbook as the Capitals’ inaugural home jersey advertising partner in a first-of-its-kind announced partnership in the NHL.”

First of its Kind Partnership in the NFL

The deal is the first to be announced since the NHL board of governors approved the league’s Jersey Advertising Program last month. Under the program, teams will be allowed to add advertisement patches to their jerseys for the 2022-23 season. These patches should fit in a 3 by 3.5 inches rectangle to be placed anywhere on the team’s jersey.

Aside from the jersey patch deal, the parties also expanded their long-standing partnership with more casino, gaming, and Caesars Rewards programming elements. It also provides for the entitlement of a Caesars hospitality space and VIP seating at the Capital One Arena.

Making History Again

Earlier this year, Caesars Entertainment and MSE also made history when Caesars Sportsbook opened a retail venue inside the Capital One Arena last May. The sports betting shop is the first of its kind to open inside a U.S. professional sports venue.

The two-story 18,000 square foot facility features 17 betting windows and 12 self-service betting kiosks to serve its local, regional, and global visitors. The shop also has Verizon 5G Wi-Fi capability to enable members to place bets using their mobile devices.

Caesars Partners With LSU in First Ever Gambling Deal in SEC History

Caesars Entertainment, through its sports betting arm Caesars Sportsbook, signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Louisiana State University (LSU) last Friday, inking a deal which is a first for a Southeastern Conference school to enter into such a pact.

Said LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward in a news release:

“LSU has always taken pride in providing fans with unique, innovative, and world-class experiences, and our new partnership with Caesars Entertainment will do just that. We share a clear vision of how athletics and entertainment can come together to enhance the fan experience and we are excited to join with Caesars to make that vision a reality.”

LSU did not disclose the specifics of the deal but according to industry sources, it is a “seven-figure deal.

Official Gaming and Sportsbook Partner of LSU Athletics

As the official gaming and sportsbook partner of LSU Athletics, Caesars Sportsbook will get naming rights for the new Caesars Sportsbook Skyline Club at Tiger Stadium. Caesars will also get signages throughout Death Valley starting last Saturday’s home game against Central Michigan.

The gambling company will also get additional signages throughout the sports venue as well as a signage at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center where the school hosts its basketball games and the Alex Box Stadium where Tigers’ baseball plays its games.

The deal also calls for the Caesars Sportsbook logo appearing in the Tigers’ mobile sports App. Caesars is also committed to establishing an annual scholarship fund to support deserving LSU students from Louisiana.

Committed to Louisiana

Caesars Entertainment has been busy expanding its business in the Louisiana area. There are current plans for a massive $325M renovation that will transform Harrah’s New Orleans to Caesars New Orleans. This upgrade includes a new 340-room hotel tower above the existing casino valet porte cochere and additional development on the presently unoccupied second flor of the casino.

Similarly, the company is gearing up for a large-scale expansion that will turn Capri Casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the Horseshoe Lake Charles. The gambling company also recently bought the naming right to the Superdome which is the home field of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints after the venue’s deal with German automaker Mercedes Benz expired during the summer.

Most recently, Caesars also signed a deal with the publication NOLA.com to to become its exclusive sports betting partner and official odds provider. The agreement will provide betting content from Caesars as well as a weekly prop bet for NOLA.com readers, and special promotions with odds boosts.

FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook to Launch Phoenix Sports Betting Shops on September 9th

FanDuel’s retail sportsbook at the Footprints Center, the home of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury, will commence sports betting operations on September 9th.

A second retail betting shop at the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field operated by Caesars Sportsbook is also getting ready for the September 9th launch,

FanDuel Looking to Get a Jump on the Market

With the state setting September 9th or the opening day of the 2021 NFL season as the launch date of legal Arizona sports betting, FanDuel looks to get a jump on the market. Right now, the sports betting company is scrambling to finish construction and licensing before the kick off date.

Stretching over 6,300 square feet, the luxury betting shop will have a full-service ticket window and several self-service kiosks to take bets on a daily basis. Phoenix fans in the Footprint Center will also be allowed to place bets using mobile devices on game days inside the arena.

Betting Via Kiosks

While FanDuel’s sportsbook at Footprint Center will be ready on September 9th, Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field will operate via free-standing betting kiosks operated by the gambling company. With the MLB regular season ending on October 3rd, Caesars will get their full-function retail sportsbook ready by early 2022.

The site of the Caesars sportsbook will be the former Game 7 Grill on the Plaza just outside Chase Field. During the MLB offseason, Caesars will transform that venue into a 20,000 square foot retail betting shop with a bar, restaurant, numerous TVs broadcasting games, and tons of betting options.

Unclear How Many Retail Betting Shops

Sports betting was legalized in Arizona earlier this year and the Department of Gambling has just finished accepting applications from pro sports teams and Native American tribes that plan to engage in legal sports betting. According to the department, they received 10 applications from pro sports teams and 15 applications from the tribes.

It’s unclear how many sports betting companies will operate retail betting shops on the September 11th launch date. However, punters will have multiple mobile betting options to choose from with the other sportsbooks planning to launch their digital apps on the NFL’s opening day.

Caesars Entertainment has launched a new mobile sportsbook called Caesars Sportsbook.

Operating on Liberty, the company’s owned and integrated stack, the new mobile sportsbook is currently live in eight states- Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Pending regulatory approvals, it is also expected to launch in Arizona, Maryland, and Louisiana.

In Illinois, Nevada, and Washington DC where sports bettors are required to be at or near a Caesars sportsbook to place a wager, bettors will now have access to the Caesars Sportsbook.
