Penn Interactive Ventures Partners with Lightning Box

Lightning Box Games

Penn Interactive Ventures has signed a new content deal with Lightning Box.

Online gaming is set to begin in Pennsylvania this year, with land-based venues teaming up with online operators and content providers to be ready for launch as the process moves forward. Applications for licensing has just begun and over the next few weeks, we should begin to learn which operators are interested in offering services in the state. As the process gets in full swing, land-based operators are starting to reveal their partnerships in the industry. Penn Interactive Ventures, a subsidiary of Penn National Gaming, just recently announced a new partnership with Lightning Box, a top slots developer.

Solid Online Gaming Content

With the new partnership, Penn Interactive Ventures will be able to offer even more gaming options via their online casino library. Lightning Box is a top developer of slot titles who will work with Penn Interactive to offer slot games for their social casino currently and then eventually the full scale online casino option.

Social casino platforms will be focused on first before a move will be made to set up real money gaming options. Based in Sydney, Australia, Lightning Box will be working with several partners in the online gaming industry, with this new partnership just one of many for the brand.

What Does the Deal Include?

Lightning Box GamesWith the new deal, the slot titles of Lightning Box will be available within the online casino library of Penn National later on this year. The popular slot game Chilli Gold will be the first to launch in the third quarter. The game will then be followed by additional popular titles like Silver Lion and Dolphin Gold. The company currently has 50 slot titles, all of which will be integrated within the online casino of Penn National over time.

Currently, the games will launch via social gaming clients, the Hollywood Casino, Viva Slots and Big Bonus Slots. These options are free to play but the deal with Lightning Box will eventually see titles offered for real money game play. Lightning Box has experience in both social and real money gaming, having already offered their services in New Jersey.

Penn National currently operates the Hollywood Casino, a land-based venue located at the Penn National Race Course. The company operates casino style games as well as offers horse race wagering. Just last year, the company announced plans to acquire Pinnacle Entertainment for a whopping $2.8 billion. Once the deal closes, the company will have an even larger portfolio featuring the Meadows Racetrack and Casino located near Pittsburgh.

The company also now is the proud owner of two satellite casino licenses. Plans have yet to be revealed as to what the brand plans on offering via satellite gaming, but they have the ability to open not one but two physical locations.

Online social gaming has been offered by Penn National for some time now, so it makes sense they would also be involved in the online gaming industry that is about to start in Pennsylvania. It took the gaming provider just a short time to offer two social casinos and then a year later, even more gaming was offered via a mobile product.

It seems Penn National is setting themselves up to be quite productive when it comes to real money iGaming. With the acquisition of Pinnacle Gaming, the company will be setting themselves up for success with online gaming. The recent partnership with Lightning Box only helps the company to progress even further as they prepare for online casino gaming.
