MGM Resorts International announced today the launch of playMGM.com, an online real money gaming site available in New Jersey.

Online gaming has been quite successful in the state of New Jersey, one of only three states in the US that offers real money wagering via the internet. Several of the best online and land-based operators have launched online casino and poker operations in the state since the option became available in 2013, including such names as 888, WSOP, Borgata, Golden Nugget and more. MGM Resorts International has been set to join in for some time now and today, announced they are now offering both an online casino and online poker platform.

playMGM.com Platform

playMGMMGM Resorts International announced today that playMGM.com is life, offering real money online gaming for residents and visitors to New Jersey. playMGMcasino.com and playMGMpoker.com both mark the first time that MGM has provided online gaming since 2013 when the state enacted legislation to allow the activities.

MGM Resorts International Chief Operating Officer, Corey Sanders, commented on the new offering by stating the company is thrilled to be entering the online gaming landscape of New Jersey. Sanders commented on how exciting it is for the company to bring Las Vegas to New Jersey via online gaming, especially as the company continues to develop their presence along the East Coast after their recent acquisition of the Borgata brand, as well as the opening of MGM National Harbor and the 2018 opening of the new Massachusetts casino MGM Springfield.

The two new online gaming sites are being brought to players in New Jersey via a partnership between MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings. The casino will feature over 200 gaming titles including slots, blackjack, video poker, roulette, craps and more. With the online poker site, MGM will be offering daily and weekly guaranteed tournaments as well as SNGs and cash games.

To entice players, playMGM is offering new members a nice welcome package. Players simply need to sign up and become verified to gain access to $25 in FREEPLAY as well as a 100% deposit match worth up to $2,000 in FREEPLAY. The $2,000 in freeplay has a wagering requirement of 20x the bonus and deposit amount. This is offered in the online casino. The online poker room is offering incentives as well. Players who are new to the site will earn a $25 bonus which will be equal to $10 in online cash and $15 in tournament dollars for online game play. On top of this, players can earn a 100% deposit match bonus with as much as $2,000 in restricted cash provided.

Mobile and Desktop Gaming

Players in New Jersey like having their options open when it comes to online real money game play. With the new MGM offering, players will be happy to hear that both the casino and poker site will offer mobile gaming applications as well as a desktop offering. For mobile gaming, players will be able to download content via Android and iOS devices.

These two online gaming sites are the latest additions of an already full market of casino and poker offerings. Many analysts of the gaming industry feel that with new sites continuing to emerge, the market may soon become oversaturated with too much choice and content. However, so far so good, as the online gaming industry has actually helped the land based industry of Atlantic City stay afloat. Revenues earned during online game play have played a key role in keeping the overall gaming industry in the red. It will be interesting to see how well the new sites do over the coming weeks and how they contribute to the overall earnings of the state.
