Danville Development LLC has been invited by the Illinois Gaming Board to appear on its March 12th public meeting to seek a preliminary finding of suitability for the proposed casino in Danville.

In a press release last Friday, Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. said:

“On behalf of the city of Danville, we are overjoyed at the prospect of this casino, and the fact that we are one step closer to bringing this project to fruition. We are grateful for the community’s support and enthusiasm for the project and appreciate Danville Development, LLC and the Golden Nugget for helping bring generations of dreams to reality.”

Suitability Presentation

As required, representatives from the Daville Development LLC will make virtual presentation on the company’s suitability while addressing the requirements and and qualifications for the proposed casino in Danville. The Suitability Presentation is the next step in the company’s owners license application to operate a casino in the city.

In 2020, Golden Nugget Online Gaming Inc secured a joint agreement with Danville Development LLC for market access into Illinois through a casino in Danville which will offer sports wagering. Under the deal, the casino would use the name “Golden Nugget” after the popular Las Vegas casino.

Golden Nugget Danville Casino

The Golden Nugget Danville Casino will have 41,500 square feet of gaming area and will be equipped with 500 slot machines and 14 table games. Among the amenities in the casino will be two restaurants, including a branch of Landry’s Steakhouse, and 650 surface parking spaces. A retail sportsbook will also be built in the casino premise. The Golden Nugget Online Gaming Inc platform will also be used to offer online gaming and digital sports betting.

This project marks Golden Nugget’s first joint venture on a casino project. Wholly-owned by businessman Tillman Fertitta, Golden Nugget currently operates five casino hotels located in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Biloxi, Mississippi; and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Danville Development meanwhile is a joint venture between Wilmot Gaming Illinois and GN Danville, LLC, the latter being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Golden Nugget.
