After 27 years of existence, the Gila River Hotel & Casinos has rebranded to Gila River Resorts & Casinos.
To celebrate the move, the company will unveil its new look and facilities on Friday and Saturday, January 21 and 22 with the opening of its $180 million expansion project at the Wild Horse Pass.
Said Gila River Resorts & Casinos CEO Kenneth Manuel in a statement:
“We are truly excited to introduce ourselves as Gila River Resorts & Casinos. Throughout the past several years, we have been creating a destination packed with thrilling entertainment and new ways to play so that guests can come as they are and own their moment. From our new Las Vegas-style live table games, exciting nightlife, and the addition of our BetMGM Sportsbooks to new fine dining options, spacious rooms, and a variety of serene and secluded pools, Gila River Resorts & Casinos provides guests with a casino resort experience like no other.”
Rebrand to Encompass All Properties
The rebrand will encompass the company’s three casino properties. According to CEO Manuel, guests can enjoy an elevated Las Vegas-style casino experience with the rebrand, including live table games at all properties and a rewards program that is one of the most robust in the market.
The Gila River Indian Community currently owns and operates three casinos: The Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte in Chandler, and Vee Quiva in the West Valley. The tribe is currently working on its fourth casino property, Santan Mountain in the Southeast Valley. That project broke ground last October 26, 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2023.
A Premier Destination
The multi-million dollar expansion at the Wild Horse Pass was the first for the property since it opened its doors to the gamblig public in 2009. It broke ground in 2020 and was undertaken in partnership with Sundt Construction Inc., Tynan Group, and Friedmutter Group.
Part of the project was the construction of an 11-storey Sunrise Tower which rises 150 feet over the desert. The Sunrise Tower has 205 rooms and suites to bring the property’s total to 447 rooms at the resort. It also added two new pools and a larger indoor and outdoor meeting area which makes it one of the premier destinations in the area.
