Let’s get into it!
Revenue Reports for Detroit’s Popular Casinos Have Just Surfaced
Michigan is home to many successful casinos. Many of them are located in the Detriot area. These venues are very popular amongst both residents and tourists and help to bring the state a huge amount of revenue every single month.
2021 proved to be a very successful month for Michigan’s casino industry. It appears that 2022 will be an even better month for all of the casinos operating in this state. New reports have just surfaced that show how much money Detriot’s popular casinos managed to bring in last January.
These reports have confirmed that these casinos brought in $100.9 million in gross gaming revenue over the month of January. MGM Grand Detriot experienced the most revenue at 49% of the GGR earned here. MotorCity Casino Hotel came next at 30% of the market share. Greektown Casino managed to capture 21% of the revenue earned here.
Table games and slots accounted for $98.97 million in GGR. Land-based sportsbooks in casinos here brought in 41.93 million. The revenue figures here do not account for the money earned from Michigan’s online gambling operators.
Detroit’s popular casinos are thriving right now. Casino revenue is likely to continue increasing throughout the rest of 2022. Stay tuned for updates!
Illinois Casino Industry Continues to Grow
Michigan has developed a large casino industry over the last couple of decades. Sports betting is legal here, as well. The state’s regulated gambling options help to bring in major tax revenue each month.
Neighboring Illinois is still home to the largest gambling industry in the midwest. A huge number of popular casinos and sportsbooks are up and running here. In fact, Illinois has one of the most successful sports betting industries in the country right now.
A Capital Plan was approved in Illinois back in 2019. This plan allows for six new casinos to open throughout the state. That includes one in Chicago, yet lawmakers have struggled to come up with plans to get construction started on this proposed casino.
Only one of these six planned casinos has gone under construction. It will take years for all of these gambling venues to open. In the meantime, the state will continue to expand its hugely successful sports betting industry.
Detroit’s popular casinos continue to struggle competing with the ones operating in Illinois. Stay tuned for updates on the growth of these states’ two casino industries over the next eleven months!
