Delaware Online Gambling Sees Huge Gains in July
The online gambling market of Delaware has not been as fruitful as Nevada or New Jersey. However, things are looking up as the state has seen nice gains, with July earning an increase of 114%.
Online casino gaming in the United States is few and far between. Players do not have access to online casino gaming until they are located within the state of New Jersey or Delaware. Delaware is a small state that offers online gaming via three racinos, with each offering their own brand of casino game play via the internet. Because the state is so small, they have seen less than stellar numbers when it comes to revenues earned. Since beginning to offer such gaming, the state has earned only five figure and low six figure numbers.
Soaring High in July
Delaware has seen quite the positive gains when it comes to online gambling revenues during 2016, especially for the month of July. The Delaware State Lottery has released the current figures which show the state was able to see an increase in year on year gaming revenues of 114%. The state earned just over $142,000 in July of 2015 but the number for last month came in at a whopping $304,211!
In June, the state was able to see a record month for revenues, earning $304,874. The month of July was just short of breaking this record by only a few hundred dollars. Online slot game play produced the biggest earnings for July bringing in $160,878 when compared to July of last year. Blackjack and roulette were big earners as well bringing in $86,513 in earnings. Poker was not as high in regards to actual money earned at $33,745 but the gaming option did see a 20% gain month to month.
Comparing Online Casino Operators
As mentioned earlier, it is the racinos that provide online casino gaming in the state of Delaware. Leading the online poker earnings for July was Delaware Park who brought in just over $17,000. Dover Downs was second with $14,429 in earnings while Harrington saw a huge decrease of 45% to earnings of $2,165. Delaware Park has remained at the top in regards to online poker gaming in the state since the option first began back in 2013.
In overall totals, Dover Downs has a huge lead with just over $114,000 earned in overall gaming. Coming in second is Delaware Park, who provided just over $129,000 to the overall online gaming totals. Harrington produced a net profit of $59,833.30, coming in last in the overall gaming totals.
Overall, players seemed to be more interested in playing the video lottery games rather than table games. For the month of July, players played just over $3.5 million on the lottery games and the casino took in a net profit of $160,878.27 total. As far as table games are concerned, the casinos saw players hitting the tables and spending just over $3 million with a net profit of $86,513.09 earned.
Registrations were a bit low but still considerable since the state does have a low population. 252 total new registrations were added with Harrington producing the least at 46, Delaware Park coming in second with 95 and Dover Downs dominating again in first with 111 in new online gaming accounts.
It seems that players in the state are still interested in online casino gaming and are possibly playing more now than ever before. The totals from June and July suggest that players took time to enjoy lottery games, table games and more. Now, it will be interesting to see if the totals were just up due to the summer months or if players are seriously beginning to take notice of the online casino gaming industry within the state.
