Red Rock Casino President Passed Away on July 4

Red Rock Resorts

Richard J. Haskins, the president of Red Rock Casino, died on July 4 after a fatal watercraft accident.

Haskins was spending the weekend on Lake Michigan with his family. The accident happened roughly around 2:00pm on Saturday afternoon. Haskins was traveling westbound in Little Traverse Bay, and at the same time, a 27-foot powerboat, driven by a 77-year old man named James Moffat, was traveling northbound. The boats collided at top speeds.

Immediately following the accident, Haskins was transported to Harbor Springs launch area, where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff. The accident remains under investigation, and very few details have been released yet. It is unknown who is technically at fault for the accident.

Red Rock Casino’s board of directors released this statement in response to Haskins death,

“The entire Station Casinos family mourns this loss. On behalf of our Board of Directors, management team and employees, we extend our deepest sympathies to the Haskins family.”

Red Rock Casinos board of directors will release a plan for Haskins’ replacement sometime in the next couple of days. Right now, they are focused on mourning his death and grieving with his family over their loss.

Haskins has been with the company for over twenty-five years and was an essential part of the business. Frank Fertitta III, Red Rock’s CEO described him in this way,

“He was a trusted advisor, a brilliant strategist, a steady hand in good times and in bad and most important – a friend to all.”

Wrap Up

Red Rock Casino and its staff are mourning the loss of their beloved president, Richard J. Haskins. After twenty-five years with the company, he had earned the respect of many and will be greatly missed.

Whoever is hired to replace him will have big shoes to fill. When more details regarding the future of Red Rock are released, I will be sure to share them with you.

Casinos in Lake County Have Started to Open

Lake County California

About two weeks ago, casinos in Lake County, California, started opening up. Since many of Lake County’s casinos are found on reservations, Governor Gavin Newsom wrote a letter to the tribal leaders to warn them about not listening to social distancing protocols established by the state.

The letter mentioned that they run the risk of igniting a new wave of infections.

Jessica Shown-Morgan, the marketing manager of Konocti Vista Casino Resort, released this statement in response to that letter:

“I’ve been really proud and happy about the way that we’ve (made) a lot of changes in order to make sure that people are safe, as well as finding out about all the health guidelines, and then still trying to create the fun.”

She also addressed the fact that they understand everyone’s concerns and take the safety of their guests very seriously.

Their goal is to make people feel comfortable playing in their casinos and staying in their hotel rooms without worrying about the spread of the coronavirus.

Changes Casinos in Lake County Have Started to Implement

One of the safety features Konocti Vista Casino Resort and the other surrounding casinos have implemented, is a plastic shield that separates cashiers from the guests.

This helps prevent the spread of germs between both parties. Both guests and employees will be required to wear a face mask at all times to prevent the spread of germs as well.

Before guests or employees can enter the casino, they will be required to get their temperature taken. Any guest or employee whose temperature is over 95.5%, will be asked to leave. Guests are required to remain six feet apart from anyone outside their party whenever possible too.

Many of the casinos in Lake County are also making their facilities non-smoking properties for the first time ever. They realize that smoking in the facilities potentially has the chance to increase the coronavirus spread and understand that the risk is not worth it. They may lose visitors over this course of action, but only time will tell.

Instead of allowing the casinos to stay open twenty-four hours, they will be closed from midnight until 8pm. During this time, they will have a cleaning crew come in to sanitize and perform a deep clean of the bathrooms, playing tables, chairs, slot machines, game pieces, etc.

While all of these restrictions may seem overwhelming, guests are still happy to have a place to enjoy their favorite casino games and socialize with their friends. In Lake County, casinos have been reaching their maximum capacity most nights over these past two weeks, and I don’t see that changing for a while.

Wrap Up

In Lake County, casinos have opened up, but things are certainly not the same as they used to be.

These casinos have taken extreme precautions to ensure they can minimize, if not altogether avoid, the coronavirus spread throughout their facilities.

I am excited to see casinos reopening safely and securely, and I’m eager to see what changes become permanent in the months to come.

Illinois Casinos Are Expected to Open Soon

Flag Of Illinois

If you live in Illinois, we are sure you are eager for the casinos to open back up. The Illinois Gaming Board oversees ten casinos and over 36,000 slot machines in over 7,000 locations throughout Illinois. All casinos and devices have been shut down since mid-March in an effort to diminish the spread of the coronavirus.

While the board hasn’t announced an official date when it will allow casinos to reopen, but they did announce that officials are reviewing the safety plans submitted by casino owners that include details on how they will comply with the updated health standards.

We assume that when casinos reopen, slot machines will be turned on at bars, gaming parlors, and other facilities they are currently located at.

Words from the Top

Gene O’Shea, the board’s spokesmen, released this public statement on the matter, “The timing of resumption of video gaming and casino gaming depends entirely on the public health conditions at the time.

Additionally, any resumption of video gaming or casino gaming will resume within the framework of the Restore Illinois plan. Under that plan, the earliest gaming could resume is Phase 4.”

The Illinois Gaming Board hinted that many gambling locations would be back in business by June 26. That is the date the state is expected to move into Phase 4. Of course, this date is tentative because it relies on the continued decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases.

Whenever the state does enter Phase 4, casinos will be limited to 50% capacity for a limited period of time to comply with the Illinois Department of Public Health safety guidelines.

The board released a checklist to help casino owners plan well for their reopening. This checklist gives us a better idea of how to expect casinos to operate for the foreseeable future.

A few of the things on the checklist include:

  • Restaurants, hotels, and spas must comply with local and state health requirements.
  • Crowds are limited to 50% of maximum fire-code capacity.
  • All guests must maintain 6 feet of social distance.
  • Employees and guests must wear face coverings.
  • Casinos must be cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected regularly.

Wrap Up

If everything goes according to plan, in Illinois, casinos will have the green light to open within the week.

While I think it is exciting to finally be able to visit casinos in Illinois again, I also know that there are significant changes to ensure the safety of all guests in attendance.

The Illinois Gaming Board is working hard to abide by all safety protocols issued by the governor, and it shows.

Sports Gambling Is About to Present Amazing Opportunities

Sports Betting Odds and Lines Board

Sports bettors are about to have a once in a lifetime opportunity as the NBA, the NFL, and the NHL are all planned to start back up around the same time.

“The bettors will be in gambling heaven for August and September, especially if the NHL and NBA come back as it looks like,” says Kornegay, the owner of the sportsbook that partnered with The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk, CO.

Colorado Already Has A Hefty Income Stream

Sportsbooks became legal for the first time in Colorado on May 1. According to the Colorado Department of Revenue, even though most sports have not started playing yet, approximately $25.5 million in bets have been placed so far.

That number is especially impressive, considering there are only seven licensed vendors in operation throughout the state. Colorado officials have approved twenty-five internet operators and nineteen brick-and-mortar retail operators to open for the next couple of months.

So hopefully, that helps revenue increase.

The Broncos, based in Denver, CO, became the first franchise with a sports betting sponsorship when they accepted a multi-year partnership with FanDuel.

The gambling relationships that were once taboo are now being celebrated for the first time. While the gambling market has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is expected to come back full steam in the coming months. This partnership is proof of that!

There Are Many Unknows – But That Shouldn’t Stop You

The restart of these leagues come with a myriad of questions.

  • Will fans be allowed to attend the games?
  • How will empty arenas affect the quality of the game?
  • Will any players suddenly retire as a result of the new playing conditions?
  • Will the athletes be able to perform at their best after a long time without practicing?
  • Which teams will be ready to finish this unprecedented season?

These are just a few of the questions we all have, and I’m are sure you have even more. While I can’t answer any of these questions with any degree of certainty, I’m excited to discover the answers in the months to come.

Wrap Up

This year has been unpredictable, to say the least.

Nothing has gone according to plan for anyone, and I’m not surprised that the same is to be said for the world of sports gambling. No one could have predicted that sports gambling would take off in Colorado or that the Broncos would team up with Fanduel during a pandemic, but both happened.

I’m eager to see what will happen next, and we should all expect to encounter unremarkable betting opportunities within the next couple of months.

Great Deals in Las Vegas Following Their Reopening Last Week

View of Las Vegas MGM Grand and Luxor

Who’s ready to head to Vegas?

Casinos opened for the first time since mid-March just over a week ago. They will be operating at fifty percent occupancy until further notice. Both visitors and employees will have to follow specific safety protocols to ensure coronavirus doesn’t spread throughout the facility. Despite the policy change, thousands of people rushed to the casinos as soon as they opened.

Don’t ever think you can stop gamblers, it just won’t happen!

Deals on Deals

Anyone who has visited Las Vegas in the past week has probably noticed the incredible deals at every corner. When it comes to booking a room at one of the city’s many fabulous hotels, expect to find record low rates.

The Wynn is offering rooms for as low as $150 per night, while the Bellagio has rooms for as low as $125 per night. Other hotels are offering incentives to get you to book your stay like a $100 dining credit or waved parking fees.

The CEO of LW Hospitality Advisors said,

“In Vegas, they need you to pay for the room less to still come in and spend money. They can afford to break even or even lose a little on the room in the hopes that you sit down at the table and drop some money or go to bars or a show.”

That’s how the casinos can get away with putting such a low price tag on their rooms.

Will they lose money in their rooms? Probably! Will they make up for it at the slots and other casino games? That’s certainly the hope.

Casinos are still worried that they may not be doing enough to keep a steady flow of people in and out of the casino though. With unemployment rates higher than they have been in years, people don’t necessarily have the extra money in the budget for a trip to Vegas. We expect to see Vegas casinos continue to use incentives and deals to draw people in.

Wrap Up

Financially speaking, there’s no better time than the present to visit Las Vegas. Hotel rates are at a record low and they are giving away so many perks to make planning a trip more appealing. Not to mention, since casinos can only operate at a fifty percent occupancy, it will present a unique opportunity to visit the casinos minus the crowds.

If you find yourself with extra money and an urge to travel, Las Vegas could be an excellent choice!

Online Sports Betting Could Be Available in Illinois Soon

Flag of Illinois

Three months ago, right before the coronavirus pandemic started to spread throughout Illinois, sports betting became legal in the state for the first time. Not ideal for anyone, but this hits hard for online sports betters in Illinois!

Sports bettors got excited about all the potential bets they could make and then they were devastated by the news that most sports leagues were canceled to prevent the spread of the virus.

On June 5, Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed an executive order that gave bettors permission to register for online sports betting accounts from home. The previous gaming expansion bill required bettors to register at racetracks or casinos in person before they were allowed to create an account and bet from home. For the safety of the residents, the governor decided to temporarily change the policy on this.

Governor Rulings

Marcus Fruchter, the Illinois Gaming Board administrator, said this in a recent interview

“Governor Pritzker’s executive order allows Illinois sports fans to temporarily place wagers from the safety of their own home, protecting a revenue source that is critical as the state begins to recover from the damaging financial impact of COVID-19.”

The Illinois Gaming Board won’t be opening any casinos until they feel it is safe to do so, so online betting will be the next best option.

Despite the governor’s latest change, Illinois natives won’t be able to place a bet just yet. Seven casinos and three racetracks have applied for sports betting licenses, but only two casinos have been granted temporary ones so far. They will also have to apply for an additional license to be able to offer online betting and neither casino has submitted those forms yet.

The exact details of what sports will be available to bet on and what types of wagers will be available in the future is unknown at this time. However, the gaming board does have plans to discuss these questions and more during their next meeting on June 11. This will be their first time gathering together since January 30. Hopefully, we will have more information for you after the details of this meeting have been released.

Wrap Up

Illinois is making strides towards offering sports betting options for their residents, but they aren’t ready quite yet. Once the casinos apply and get approved for the appropriate licenses, things can move forward.

Residents of Illinois can safely sign up for online sports betting accounts from the comfort of their own homes to get ready for when sports betting finally becomes available. Hopefully, this happens sooner rather than later!

IFMP Nations Cup Attracts the World’s Best Poker Players From Twelve Countries

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak and social distancing protocol, the IFMP Nations Cup will be played across a digital platform for the first time ever this weekend. IFMP President Patrick Nally said this in response to questions about the event,

“We must adapt and respond to the global pandemic by hosting the Nations Cup in a manner that allows all team members, from around the world, to play from the safety and security of their own homes.”

Technology Provided by Cisco Webex

Cisco Webex will be providing the technology for the match play throughout the entire tournament this year. Founded in 2007, this company develops and sells video conferencing and web conferencing tools. They are a trusted company that produces high-quality products and always strives to update their technology to ensure their products are top of the line.

Countries Participating in the Nations Cup This Year

Twelve countries are participating in the Nations Cup this year. Competing teams include last year’s victor, Ukraine, plus Spain, India, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, Belarus, Ireland, Germany, Poland, and Lithuania. Expect to see 120 competitors playing 450 hands of poker over two days.

The event will be streamed on Twitch, and score updates will be published on the IFMP website and PokerNews. This Nations Cup is the end of a three-part series that began with the European Nations Cup in Ukraine and was followed by the Asian Nations Cup.

Match Poker Overview

Match Poker is a variation of Texas hold ’em. Each team will be separated into two different tables, with one player from each team sitting in a different position than their teammate. All players start each hand with the same amount of chips and with the same amount of cards.

Each team’s combined chips are compared, and points are granted accordingly. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament wins.

Wrap Up

The IFMP Nations Cup will be played on a digital platform designed by Cisco Webex. This will be the first time this event will take place online instead of in person. Twelve countries will come together electronically to play in this event, and I can’t wait to see who takes the Nations Cup this year. Will it be the reigning champions from Ukraine or an unexpecting country this year?

I’ll do my best to keep you guys posted, be sure to check back for more news here at!

Las Vegas Casinos Are Set to Open With Restrictions

Las Vegas Sign at Night

I think we could all use a little good news right about now, so here it is; Las Vegas casinos will be reopening soon!

Vacationers and locals alike are ecstatic to hear that Governor Steve Sisolak set a tentative date for casinos to be reopened. That date is June 4th. Of course, this reopening is dependent on the continued decrease of new COVID-19 cases.

Virginia Valentine, the CEO of Nevada Resort Association, said this in response to the news that casinos will be reopening:

“Our members are excited to show off the enhancements they’ve made that preserve the experience while ensuring the well-being of our employees and visitors.”

Reopen, But Not Back to Normal Yet

When casinos do reopen, things will not go back to business as usual. Each casino is required to submit plans for reopening that include details on how they will properly enforce social distancing and increase their sanitation policies.

Casinos will be required to post signs urging people to wash their hands thoroughly and to stay six feet apart at all times. Groups larger than four will be discouraged. While wearing masks won’t be required for casino guests, many of the larger resorts will hand them out for free for anyone who feels they need extra protection.

In addition to that, you can expect to see limitations on how many people can appear at each gaming table. Craps is limited to six people, roulette is limited to four, and blackjack is limited to three. Even the slot machines will look scarce as some machines will be shut down to discourage people from sitting too close to one another.

Sanitization procedures are expected to increase during the reopening process as casinos will be required to take the necessary precautions to prevent germs from spreading from person to person. Chips, dice, and shooters will be disinfected after each use on the casino floor. In hotel rooms, the cleaning staff will ensure that all remotes, light switches, and other heavily-touched items get a thorough cleaning.

Other businesses found on the Strip, including nightclubs and buffets, will remain closed until further notice. Concerts and events, such as the legendary Cirque Du Soleil, will also continue to be put on hold during this time.

The Wrap Up

While there’s no telling when or if the casinos on the Strip will ever go back to “normal,” we are encouraged to hear that casinos will start opening their doors again soon. Will the casino experience look and feel different? Yes. Can you still enjoy yourself? Absolutely! Just while being socially distant.

Let us know what you guys think about Vegas reopening in the comment section below!

Casino in Oklahoma Reopens Despite Rise of COVID-19 Cases

Thunderbird Casino Logo

Give me liberty or give me…Corona?

Wait, that’s not right, is it? Oh well.

New developments are coming out daily about COVID-19. Today we’re going to talk about how a casino in Oklahoma is set to reopen, even with Corona numbers on the rise.

Why? Well, people are doing lots of crazy things these days, so who am I to judge. Let’s get into a few details:

Thunderbird Casino in Oklahoma Has Lines Out the Door

Sam Caruso, GM of Thunderbird Casino had this to say:

“It was time for everyone to get back to work, we were ready to get back to work, it just seemed like the right time to do it. We decided to do what we call a soft opening without a lot of fanfare.”

Well, “without a lot of fanfare” certainly didn’t pan out. People were literally lined up out the door to get into this casino. You can’t really blame people, though.

We’ve all been cooped up going crazy the past few months. A lot of people are trying to homeschool their kids and take care of everything else. At least liquor stores were deemed essential during all this, right?

Thunderbird Casino has seen great feedback so far from the community despite the threat of the Coronavirus. Even with the numbers rising in the state of Oklahoma, nothing will stop these people from hitting those slots.

It’s great for people that are willing to go out, too, because other local tribal casinos are staying closed.

New Casino Protocols For Reopening

Just the other day, I wrote a piece on whether I thoughtfacemasks will be the new norm in all casinos. This Oklahoma casino is just strengthening that argument.

All patrons entering the Thunderbird casino are required to wear a mask upon entry and must remain on for the duration of their stay. I didn’t see anything about temperatures needing to be taken, that might just be a Vegas thing, at least for now.

I can only imagine restrictions will continue to grow as time goes on. Even if the virus cools down a bit, it’s not likely these health and safety protocols will die down.

But for now, people don’t seem to mind having to wear the masks and be separated in the casino. People are just happy to see something open.

Caruso again had this to say:

“Every guest that has come in the facility has been very appreciative. They understand and when we tell them to put a mask on they put their mask on.”

The Wrap Up

In closing, I’ll leave you with this, casinos are reopening, and people absolutely love it. Virus or no virus, people need their slot machine action.

I’m the last person to give anyone advice, let alone medical advice. So I’ll leave my opinions together and just say that I hope you all do what you think is right, and stay as safe as possible.

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you guys think about this whole situation!

The Encore Requiring Masks Upon Reopening – Will This be the New Norm for Casinos?

These are strange times we are living in.

As the entire world is still working on recovering, casino owners are shaking with anticipation of when they can reopen.

Well, we’re getting closer.

The shutdown is ending in some states, and casinos are gearing for the grand reopening of their businesses.

But, there will, of course, be some strings attached. What are the strings? Let’s get into that now.

Gotta Wear Your Mask, Everybody

The Encore Boston Harbor doesn’t have a set date of when they will be able to reopen, but that’s not stopping them from getting ready.

However, to get the all-clear, there are some new rules the casino must abide by. All employees and patrons of the casino must wear a facemask at all times.

Looking to play some craps? Maybe some roulette even? Good luck.

These games will not be allowed to be played at first until there is a way to offer these games with proper social distancing.

Get Ready to Have Your Temperature Taken

Another thing Encore is implementing is having to take temperatures of employees, and also guests. So, you’ll be sitting at a slot machine, and then you’ll just get stopped to have your temperature taken like your at the doctors.

Not only that, but you will also be separated from other patrons by a pane of plexiglass. I say again, weird times we’re living in.

The Encore in Boston is not the only place though, Vegas casinos such as The Venetian and Palazzo will also be taking your temperature when they reopen.

Is This the New Normal for Casinos?

The question has to be asked, “Is this the new normal?”

It certainly isn’t something that will be going away any time soon, that’s for sure. Basically, every casino and even every company will have to follow guidelines similar to this.

Casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and around the globe are working to be ready for this transition. Many states are in multiple step plans for their businesses to reopen.

People Wearing Mask Inside of a Casino

So, when you are finally able to go into your local casino again, be prepared to see a sea of facemasks being worn.

Welcome to 2020.

Rise of Online Casinos

With all of this going on, it’s no surprise that people are divided on how to handle the situation. You have people that are buying 12-year supplies of toilet paper, so they never have to leave their homes. On the flip side, you have people already running around without masks on basically asking to get the virus.

People that are staying home will be looking for other methods of real money casino games. That’s where online casinos come in. Now more than ever, people are seeing the importance of having virtual options for things.

There are plenty of real money games to choose from, all of which the team here at has reviewed. I’ve reviewed some myself, some of them our team members have helped with.

The Wrap Up

That does it for today. We have facemasks, temperatures, and online casinos all on the table right now. Remember, stay inside until you’re cleared, now more than ever. The murder hornets might get you. Let’s hope we all make it through level six of Jumanji.

World Poker Tour and Theta Labs TV Launching a 24/7 Poker Streaming Channel

Do you ever just stop and think, “man, I wish I could watch poker for 24 hours straight.” If you’re a normal person, then probably not.

World Poker Tour Logo

But, if you do wish there was a way for it to be possible to watch poker matches and have them more easily accessible, you’re in luck!

Theta Labs, the creator of, is in works with the World Poker Tour to create a streaming channel that will have an “always-on” approach to showing poker.

“Theta Labs and WPT are innovators in our respective industries and this global partnership will provide our users with a new, ground-breaking way to watch the best televised poker product in the world, all powered by our peer-to-peer Theta blockchain technology, We’re looking forward to deeper integration of the Theta Network within WPT.” – CEO of Theta Labs, Mitch Liu

Who is Theta Labs?

Okay, but who exactly is Theta Labs? Are they poker experts?

No, not exactly poker experts, but they are experts in the world of streaming.

Theta Labs, or, is best known for being a streaming channel that has a network with its own blockchain. This is designed to incentivize people to share bandwidth. is a p2p network that is working to help with the issues of VDN’s having little to no reach in lesser developed countries.

Why Poker?

This is a move down by Theta Labs in an attempt to broaden their horizons outside fo their traditional esports market. Expanding a portfolio is by no means out of the ordinary for companies. While I’m not exactly sure why they started with poker, I’m definitely not going to complain about it!

During this time of pandemic in the world right now, streaming services and virtual playing of games will only become more and more important.

The Wrap Up

So, now we have another streaming platform to be able to enjoy poker. We will be able to us to watch the following:

  • World Poker Tour Seasons VIII through XVI
  • WPT Alpha8 Seasons I-III
  • WPT Greatest Season I-III
  • King of the Club

Hopefully, we continue to see a rise in streaming content that compliments fans of the online gambling world.

If you guys have suggestions for some, or just have any questions or comments in general, feel free to drop a comment down below!

Who is NetEnt?

NetEnt is an online slot and casino game provider based out of Sweden. They have many different games they offer, including a massive slot game library.

NetEnt is best known for its slots, so naturally, they put out new games regularly. I’ve put out a few news posts recently about new slot games, and all of them have included at least one NetEnt title.

They also as of last year acquired Red Tiger gaming, so any games you see that are provided by Red Tiger are now owned by NetEnt as well.

Wrap Up

People seem to think that Bingo is only for the older generation, but I’m 24, and I love a good game of Bingo. You can catch me with your grandparents playing Bingo anytime, no shame!

As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread across the US, I hope we’re all doing our part and staying inside as much as we can. As dull as we may feel right now, many businesses and services are trying their best to step up and provide things for their communities.

That’s where Florida comes in.

Virtual Bingo Making Strides in Florida

A non-profit in the sunshine state of Florida called “My Warrior’s Place” is hosting Bingo games virtually on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings at 7:45 pm EST. All you will need to participate is a working internet connection and a way to connect to Facebook live.

Playing on Facebook live might not give you the same rush as being able to scream BINGO in front of your peers to let them know you are the dominant player, but at least it’s something.

Not only is My Warrior’s Place supplying people a fun pastime to take part in, but they are also providing prizes! I mean, what is Bingo without a prize to win? You can win gift cards of your choice that comes for local area patrons, according to The Observer News.

Local residents can participate by donating at least $20 to get a Bingo card emailed to them, and if you donate $30, you can get 3 cards. The proceeds go back into local businesses to help those struggling due to the closures.

What better way to fight boredom by playing Bingo online and supporting local businesses!

Words from “My Warrior’s Place”

Kelly Kowall, the president of the organization, had this to say:

“I would encourage people to do it for three good reasons. One, it gives you something to do three nights a week instead of just sitting there just doing nothing. Two, it helps to support our restaurants. And three, any funds left over from buying the gift certificates support My Warrior’s Place.”

The Wrap Up

Even though we’re stuck inside, that doesn’t mean we can’t find ways to have fun and help one another! The advancement of technology we have in this day and age truly allows us to go to incredible places. We should all be truly thankful for what we have, and try and spread more positivity, now more than ever.

Personally, I would love to see more places do things like this and take advantage of the virtual opportunities for games that we have. In a perfect world, though, this virus will be over soon, and we can all meet up in brick and mortar Bingo rooms!

Hellcatraz by Relax Gaming

Hellcatraz Online Slot Machine
Go back in time back to the ‘80s when video games were all 8-bit, and people still wore leg warmers with Hellcatraz. This new online slot courtesy of Relax Gaming can help you do just that, relax. The soundtrack to this game is almost nostalgic, and the graphics take you back to a simpler time.

About the Game

In this game, you can switch between two different modes, played on a 6×6 grid. You have mystery symbols that will appear with every spin, which turns into a pre-designated symbol after a certain number of spins.

There are also free spins that can be acquired by collecting keys throughout the game. And you can even win additional spins if you get the golden mystery symbol.

The Wild Hatter by Red Tiger

The Wild Hatter Online Slot Machine
Definitely not a bad rip off of the mad hatter tea party, actually quite the opposite! I wouldn’t call this a rip off at all, this game is a refreshing tastefully done inspired slot game that is very enjoyable to play.

You can sit back, win some money, and relive some great characters throughout the literary world all at the same time!

This is a 5×4 grid, 30 payline slot game encased in a gold and mushroom-filled frame. The reels all contain different characters from the mad hatter tea party, accompanied by a soundtrack you’ll want on repeat.

Virgina Getting Closer to Casino Legislation

Flag of Virginia

Virginia is on its way to potentially get casinos regulated. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has been taking action to delay bans on gambling machines. The machines are called “gray machines” and are found most commonly in bars, grocery stores, restaurants, and other various types of convenience stores.

Gov. Northam is trying to get lawmakers to delay the ban because he thinks that there needs to be a new approach to the economy due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The effects of this virus have not been minimal; so far, it has shut down all casino operations in the US.

Both Las Vegas and Atlantic City are bearing a large part of the casino shutdown burden. However, not just the major casinos are being affected. Plenty of smaller casinos in various other states are also feeling the effects of this shutdown.

The gambling machines are helping the state of Virginia, and Northam doesn’t want to lose that. In the restaurants especially, they may be needing the extra revenue. The governor also wants to use the tax to set up a relief plan from the virus that will aid small businesses and others.

Clark Mercer, the chief of staff to governor Northam, is saying that the restaurants will be reliant on the extra revenue since their operations are mainly shut down, and people will not be coming out as much.

Will Casinos Be Legal in Virginia?

Previously, governor Northam has been fighting to legalize casinos in five different cities. The cities are:

  • Bristol
  • Danville
  • Richmond
  • Portsmouth
  • Norfolk

Unfortunately for Virginia, it is one of the only few states that still has outright banned gambling and casinos. However, online casinos in Virginia are a different story. But now’s not the time to discuss online casinos!

Hopefully, with Governor Northam continuing to push for casino regulation, the state of Virginia can see casinos fully regulated soon.

Where is Virginia With Current Laws

As of right now, casino games are not currently fully legal in the state of Virginia. However, you can play the lottery and bet on horses in regulated areas.

You must be at least 18 to gamble in the state of Virginia, as with most other states around the US.

The Wrap Up

As the entire United States casino industry recovers from the impact of the COVID-19 virus, many news reports will continue to come out. We will see more news about legislation updates, shutdowns, and more.

Virginia is making moves right now, but will soon be followed by others. Be sure to check back often to our team here at for all of your casino news needs.

GameCo Is Partnering with Etermax and Bringing Trivia Crack to Online Casinos

Remember back in 2013 when everyone had Trivia Crack downloaded on their phone? We would all sweat with anticipation waiting to answer questions for the ever so wondrous bragging right with your friends?

Trivia Crack Logo

I remember, and it was great fun for a few months. Then it sort of seemed like the hype died a bit, but that’s probably more for the younger crowds that played. The game actually to date has more than 500 million downloads and stayed at the top charts in the app stores!

Fast forward 7 years, and here we are in 2020. Now Trivia Crack is back but with a surprising new twist.

That’s right, coming to a casino (possibly) near you in late 2020 are Trivia Crack gambling machines!

GameCo Excited to Offer Gambling Machines

GameCo is excited to offer this option to its customers and strives to produce a game that will be based on the player’s skill and not just pure luck. However, it will still have similar elements to the casino games of chance.

Not only Trivia Crack, but Gameco also has other games that it is releasing via its GamersEdge technology.

The game isn’t too far into development yet, so there isn’t much to know in terms of how it looks. But what we do know is that the game will be very similar to its mobile counterpart.

You will spin a wheel, which is split into a few different categories to choose from:

  • Arts
  • Science
  • Sports
  • Entertainment
  • Geography
  • History

Just like in the game, the object is to collect the six characters from each category by answering the questions. The gambling aspect comes in as you will be able to place bets during gameplay.

The Wrap Up

With Trivia Crack coming to casinos later this year, does this open up the door for other skill games to be turned into gambling machines? Maybe we’ll be able to play other mobile games for money in the near future.

Will you guys play Trivia Crack for real money? What other games do you think will follow? Let me know in the comment section below!

Golden Knights Donating Meals to Las Vegas Healthcare Workers

The great city of Las Vegas is coming together for one another in these trying times. Since we don’t have sports, the Las Vegas Golden Knights are making great use of their time to help their city.

Vegas Golden Knights Helmet Logo

Three members from the NHL team are partnering with the Las Vegas Golden Knights Foundation to give out more than 7,000 meals to healthcare workers in the Vegas area. The players getting involved are William Karlsson, Jon Merrill, and Deryk Engelland.

The food will be provided courtesy of chefs at the MacKenzie River. MacKenzie River is the restaurant that is located inside of City National Arena.

The team will provide 300 meals per day, five days a week, for the next five weeks. As of right now, this is with the current three players assisting with the foundation, but more players could potentially be added and increase the amounts of meals.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights Foundation president, Kim Frank, had this to say in an interview:

“Medical professionals throughout Las Vegas are battling this virus on the front lines in an effort to keep our families and community safe, we’re proud to show our support for those working in healthcare across the Las Vegas Valley by providing thousands of meals over the coming weeks.”

When Will the NHL Return?

As the entire world waits to come back after the unfortunate COVID-19 outbreak, we’re all just stuck quarantining in the meantime. While this is happening, obviously, no major sports are being played.

We lost March Madness, the finish to the NBA season, NHL, MLB, and so many. Too many.

Every industry in the US and the world is hurting right now, and there just is, unfortunately, no telling when things will come back.

President Trump said yesterday after a meeting with multiple different sports league commissioners, including NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, that he is hopeful for the NFL season to start as scheduled.

This doesn’t really mean much to die-hard NHL fans, but take it for what it is right now. Hopefully, we are on the mend, as there is talk about trying to see a full 2020-21 schedule.

The Wrap Up

I love hearing news like this. As someone who lived in Las Vegas myself, I love to see a local sports team like the Vegas Knights to help out those in need.

Not just Vegas, but we’re all in this together during this global pandemic. What do you guys think about the Knights? Do you hope to see other teams step up and help in times like this? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Atlantic City Losing Upwards of 500 Million Dollars Per Month Amid Global Pandemic

Atlantic City Boardwalk at Night

Could you imagine walking into a casino, any casino in the world, and it just being empty? Caesar’s in Atlantic City would be a very strange casino to see completely desolate. Yet that’s exactly where we are.

The unfortunate outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has left hundreds of thousands of people unemployed across the world. In the US, where the virus has spread to be the worst country so far, we’re seeing a massive hit to the casino industry.

I won’t sit here and claim that casinos are an essential business. Still, it’s definitely cause for concern for these companies.

The Declining of Atlantic City

Since the state-regulated shutdowns started in early March, casinos around the globe are facing financial struggles. Atlantic City is now losing 540 million every month. These numbers are staggering, losses of which the casino industry as a whole as ever seen.

The big question floating around for everyone is, “will the industry bounce back?”

With the amount being lost every month as high as it is, it does seem hard to imagine scenarios where Atlantic City casinos would be able to bounce back from this. However, I’m not saying that it can’t happen.

A professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande had this to say during an interview with New York Post:

“We haven’t seen it play out yet, but if you look at the economic numbers that are going to start coming out in the coming weeks, this portends to be a worse economic downturn than we even saw in the great recession.”

Unemployment All-Time High

With all the casinos being closed, obviously, that leaves thousands of workers in the casino industry without jobs during this time.

Currently, there are 26,000 people from the Atlantic City casino industry that are out of work.

Unemployment across the entire US is hitting some of the highest numbers that the country has ever seen. It’s tough seeing the casino industry going through this, but they are definitely not the only ones affected.

The Wrap Up

Atlantic City is a beautiful area with great people and tourists that flock from all over. Even though some tough times are being gone through right now, I have high hopes that they will bounce back from this stronger than ever.

What do you guys think? How has the COVID-19 virus outbreak affected you? Please let me know in the comments below.

And also, be sure to check back often and be on the lookout for more news from me and my friends here at

Atari Is Trying to Start a Cryptocurrency Casino

So… Atari is trying to start a cryptocurrency casino?

Atari Logo Red

Yeah, you read that read. It was weird for me to type it out. At the same time that Atari is trying to start this casino, they are also trying to get into the hotel industry as well.

What is going on?

Well, I’m sure you have a lot of questions, and so do I, so let’s try and unpack some of this together

What Is Going On With Atari?

Does Atari seem to be the same to you as when we were kids? The company used to be an absolute powerhouse. The first atari gaming console came out well before I was even born, back in 1977.

Jump ahead to 2020 where we are now, and now Atari is trying to push out a VCS system. So, yeah, Atari has a lot on their plate right now. What are they thinking?

Why are they trying to do all of this? I’m not entirely sure, but I definitely don’t think its the right move for them. Personally, after the number of delays we’ve seen and the breaking contracts with their designers and getting sued, it just doesn’t seem like the right move to keep piling on more and more.

Why a Casino?

Maybe the better question is, why a cryptocurrency casino? I have no answers that I could find as to exactly why they are breaking into the casino industry. One can only imagine that they are trying to take advantage of any financial gain they can get right now.

Publicity even? Bad press is good press, right? Isn’t that the saying? I don’t know, and it just is all so bizarre to me.

All of that considered, honestly, maybe it’s a great move on their part. Maybe people will love it, and it will really take off and be great for their business. Even though it seems odd to me, it doesn’t mean the next generation won’t love it. I’ve been around, and I know Atari a certain way, so having it run a casino is just really out there for me.

Who knows, though, people younger than me that don’t know any different might send them to the next level!

Oh, and maybe the hotel will take off as well!

When Does the Casino Launch?

According to Atari’s website: soon.

I couldn’t find an exact launch date, this is what I found from Atari themselves:

Atari Cryptocurrency Casino Launch Banner

Multiple reports that I found definitely think that it will launch this year.

Along with this, they are releasing two official tokens, the Atari token, and the Pong token. They are doing this by partnering up with another company that will help strengthen their case in the ICO world.

The Wrap Up

I just don’t know, guys. It’s too weird for me. Atari and a casino? Still, it just odd to think about.

Will I play at the casino? Maybe. I might try it out to see what it’s all about, but not till some kinks have been worked out.

What do you guys think about the news? How does an Atari crypto casino make you feel? Let me know in the comments below!

Caesars Entertainment UK Fined £13 Million

Caesars Entertainment UK has been slapped with a £13 million dollar fine. Ouch.

Caesars Entertainment

This fine comes in relation to failures that relate to VIP schemes. And, it comes not long after online casino Betway was hit with an £11.6 million fine back in March.

Why Did Caesars Receive a Fine?

So, the main reason behind the find is that Caesars UK was found guilty of failings in their treatment of their VIP’s. The VIP’s are typically offered perks and other comps to entice them to spend more money.

However, the failure on Caesar’s part came in for neglecting to catch gambling addiction in some of their VIP’s. Such as allowing a customer to lose £323,000 in one year and gambling for five hours or more on more than 30 occasions.

Others also had fallen prey to gambling addiction. Unfortunately, there was a gambler that was very common to sign up to “self-exclude” from gambling had started again, and lost £240,000. Another gambler who was a nanny lost that reported she was borrowing money from family, and playing from her overdraft was had lost £18,000 in a year.

Neil McArthur, an executive of the Gambling Commission, had this to say:

“In recent times the online sector has received the greatest scrutiny around VIP practices but VIP practices are found right across the industry and our tough approach to compliance and enforcement will continue, whether a business is on the high street or online.”

Caesar’s Response

In response to the fine given by the Gambling Commission, Caesars UK said that they:

“acknowledges falling short of its standards and accepts the settlement reached with the British Gambling Commission”

What Can Caesars US Learn?

If there is any takeaway from this it’s hopefully that Caesars other brands can learn from these mistakes. While the actions of one brand certainly don’t reflect the actions of all, the responsibility does come down to Caesars as a whole in my opinion.

I believe the response to their actions was acceptable; however, I also believe there is more that can be done in the fight against problem gambling.

Right now, there isn’t much gambling action going on, as all US casinos have closed due to complications with the recent COVID-19 virus outbreak.

The Wrap Up

To close this up, I will say that I will do my best to keep you updated with news that develops in regards to Caesars and the Gambling Commission. Be sure to check back for more of my news here at

Newest Online Slots Available This Month

This is no April fools joke! We have a large new selection of slots that are just waiting to be played!

Let’s take a look at what providers are offering these new games, and what the new games are!

Blown Away by Lightning Box Games

Lightning Box Games hit us with a new game called “Blown Away.”

Blown Away Slots

Blown away is a fun new game that has a theme based around animal characters that are stuck on a desert island after a storm hit. This game has all of the following features: wilds, free spins, 7x multipliers, scatters, and re-spins!

Here are all the specs that Blown Away offers:

RTP 95.70%
Reels 5
Paylines/Ways 25
Betting Range 0.25 – 200
Progressive Jackpot No
Max Jackpot 900x

This slot seems to have a lot of great offers, however after we looked a little more at the RTP and the top payouts, we feel this game might not be the best for serious players. But for casual play, this could be a fun game.

Microgaming – The Vault

The Vault is the newest addition to Microgaming’s slot library. This also comes from help from Microgaming’s independent game studio creator Snowborn Games.

The Vault Slot by Microgaming

This game has incredible graphics and is set to the theme of a man named Jewel, who is a trained burglar.

This is a 5-reel slot with 20 paylines and has excellent features such as respins, extra spins, and even stacked wilds.

The CCO of Microgaming had this to say:

“We are pleased to add Snowborn Games to our growing content partner network and look forward to working with the team, who are set to expand our diverse portfolio with unique and entertaining content, starting with their debut title, The Vault.”

The Wrap Up

This obviously is not an extensive list of all the slot games that have dropped for this month, but these are a few I thought were note-worthy. All in all, though, it looks like there are some great slot games that are continuing to come out.

Microgaming really out-did themselves with The Vault, and I’m excited to see what they do next.

I hope everyone has a great month, even though we’re stuck inside at least there are some great new slots to play! Stay safe, everyone!

Greektown Casino-Hotel is Opening its Door to First Responders in Detroit Area

img-responsive Greektown Hotel-Casino in Detroit

The numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the USA are continuing to rise. Despite this news, there are still people in the casino industry that are trying to shed a little bit of light during these times.

The Greektown Casino-Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, is offering free rooms to first responders. They are offering this for those who have fears of taking the virus to their homes and putting their families’ health at risk.

Reports show that there are 40 rooms available for emergency workers, medical workers, and Detroit police officers and firefighters. Of course, this comes with risks and complications, the hotel is taking every precaution possible to keep everyone safe.

Everyone that goes into the hotel undergoes a medical examination, getting their temperatures taken and answering questions. As of right now, the casino is closed due to the order to close all non-essential businesses.

Words from the Greektown Casino-Hotel

The Casinos community relations and public affairs VP had this to say:

“There are so many first responders who are out there working and coming in contact with a lot of people. We’re providing them a safe place to go instead of going home and potentially exposing their families.”

COVID-19 in Michigan

Michigan has unfortunately seen a surge of cases, and now has the 3rd most cases in the United States. Mainly in the Detroit area, which is where most of the first responders are sent to for help.

That’s why this is such a very generous offer from Greektown Casino-Hotel, as they are opening up their business and potentially bring the virus into their building. This will, of course, give them a hit as they will have to continually clean everything.

I find it inspiring and selfless and hope other people in the casino industry will follow suit.

Where Michigan Stands

So far, around 39 members of law enforcement in the Detroit area have been confirmed to have the virus. The President of Detroit Police Officers Association said this:

“We discussed this with the mayor on Friday because one of our concerns is officers who are scared to go home. It’s nice that they’re giving those officers a place to stay during this crisis. Right now, we have to keep our citizens calm and we also have to keep our officers calm.”

The Detroit first responders are obviously very appreciative of this gesture. As I said before, I hope more people in the casino industry will follow suit for our first responders, putting themselves at risk for us.

William Hill Classic Logo

Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US, is donating his entire salary to his furloughed employees. He is doing this through a foundation he set up within the company.

In an interview, Joe said:

“It wasn’t that hard, to be honest with you, it didn’t feel right to take a paycheck when we have so many employees that were out of work.”

“I told them we are in this together and whatever they can do, they should help, even if it’s only 20 bucks, it’s totally cool. But I want everyone to do something.”

Joe Asher has received a very positive response from this, and he says that he hopes to inspire and motivate others in the gaming community.

What’s Happening with the Casino Industry?

As of Wednesday, US-based casinos were forced to close their doors. This means casinos have been labeled as “non-essential,” which has forced over 400,000 people out of work across the US.

This is no different than other industries that have been closed to shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, the casino industry plays a substantial economic impact in places like Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

How Long Can Casinos Survive?

Only the casinos themselves can know for sure, but it’s projected the Caesars Palace has enough money to sustain itself anywhere from 8 – 16 months. Money is still being burned daily, and the country as a whole has no idea how long these quarantine rules will be applied.

Right now, the state of Nevada closed all non-essential businesses for 30 days, and who knows if that’s the end of it.

William Hill US Cares for Their Employees

Joe Asher seems to genuinely care for the employees of his company. Part of the foundation he has set up is set to pay for 100 percent of the William Hill US workforce health insurance.

“We can’t lose people to illness in a medical crisis because they didn’t have insurance,” he said. “That’s immoral.”

This is an incredibly kind gesture on the part of Joe Asher and William Hill, and I hope that other industries and business owners take notice of this.

Joe Asher had this to say about the pandemic as well:

“We don’t know how long this is going to last,” he said. “But this company has been around for 86 years. William Hill survived World War II and I’ll be damned if it dies on my watch. We’ll get through it.”

Like the rest of you, I have no idea as to when this will be over with. All we can do for now is wash our hands, keep our distance and wait this out.

All US-Based Casinos Will Be Closed By Wednesday

Unfortunately, things just keep getting worse for the casino industry. It has been announced that all US casinos will be closed down as of Wednesday. This is in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sorry We're Closed Sign

The American Gaming Association reported on Monday that more than 900 casinos had closed around the US. It has now been announced that 100% of casinos around the US will be closed.

This is a massive blow to the commercial casino industry in the US in terms of revenue. This couldn’t have come at a worse time, as casinos around the US were preparing for one of the busiest seasons of the year: March Madness.

Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US told ESPN

“Obviously, it’s unprecedented times. It’s tough right now, timing was bad, wiping out March Madness. Losing the [NCAA men’s basketball] tournament was a real punch in the gut. But, look, a punch in the gut hurts, but you recover from it.”

The closure of all these casinos around the US will diminish the number of jobs in the US by over 640,000 people.

When Will US Casinos Reopen?

This is a very difficult question to answer. As of right now, places are still continuing to quarantine close to aid in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

US President Donald Trump has made a statement today claiming that he wants to reopen businesses by Easter (April 11, 2020). People are very divided on this statement, as most of the country is when Donald Trump says anything.

Do I think that casinos will be reopened by Easter? I would certainly hope so, but I’m not holding my breath. I think personally that we will be stuck in quarantine for a little while longer, as many health officials have stated they are not sure when this could be over.

Here’s my simple advice: be patient.

I know that’s not what you want to hear, but that’s the best advice I can give at this time. You can always try casino games and other types of gambling that will still be offered from the comfort of your own home.

Online Casinos are Also Suffering

With no sports to bet on with everyone being closed, even the online casinos are struggling. Online casinos and gambling sites are being forced to shift their main focus to casino games and poker.

But with no sports actively competing, there is a lot of revenue being lost and casinos alike are scrambling to pick up the pieces.

Online casinos have gone as far as to start offering betting odds on the weather. Yes, you read that right: the weather. This is a screenshot taken from US-based sportsbook BetNow:

Crazy times we live in, right? It’s funny, but it at least gives people options!

In Closing

It looks like us Americans and people around the world for that matter will have to be happy with betting on weather, playing casino games or poker for the foreseeable future.

Everyone stay safe out there. Hopefully, everyone understands that decisions like this are not easy to make and are not made lightly. People’s jobs are being lost and revenue is decreasing for the casino industry.

Stay safe everyone and please stop hoarding toilet paper.
