The St. Croix Casinos are a group of three casinos in Northwest Wisconsin. As with many casinos under the same name that find themselves within a specific distance from one another, they’re smaller. But don’t let the small sizes fool you.
In each of the following St. Croix Casinos, you’ll find different atmospheres, games, and more. Today’s post covers all of what you will find at each, providing an overview of all three in the following sections. We’ll discuss the games offered, and if they have dining, lodging, and entertainment options.
Ready to discover all the goods you’ll find at the following Wisconsin casinos?
Let’s get started, beginning with the Turtle Lake location.
St. Croix Casino Turtle Lake
At St. Croix Casino Turtle Lake, you’ll discover real money slots, table gaming, and even live poker.
Their slot machines offer every theme imaginable. Whether you insist on playing the classics or if you’re up for a fresh experience, you’ll discover it all here at the Turtle Creek location.
They also feature the finest table games around, featuring staples like Blackjack, Roulette, and Craps. Plus, they even offer live poker. At this time, their tables are open from 10 a.m. until midnight from Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
They also offer distinct dining options, including the smoke-free Me-Ki-Noc Restaurant and The Concession Stand.
Me-Ki-Noc Restaurant offers a family-friendly environment and all-day dining. They also serve several specials throughout the week, including steak and lobster.
And if you’re looking for more specials every day of the week, head over to TLC Buffet. Regardless of the day, you’ll find something new to indulge into at TLC Buffet. Plus, you have a potluck of options at the buffet itself. So even if the specials don’t do you justice, you still have a few solid options.
Looking for something fast?
Head over to The Concession Stand and you’ll find grab and go options. Indulge in your favorite comfort foods before you return to the casino floor in record time. It’s a good place to stop by if you’re in a hurry.
And when you’re in the area, be sure to check up on their entertainment calendar. There is always something hot playing at St. Croix Casino Turtle Lake. Whether it’s an up-and-coming artist or a well-known act, prepare for a night of unforgettable music and comedy when you frequent the casino.
Over at the RV Park, amenities include a full-service campground, shower facilities, and additional shuttle service.
St. Croix Casino Hertel
Onto St. Croix Casino Hertel, where you’ll find a different flair from the Turtle Lake location.
As with the Turtle Lake location, you’re looking at a smaller venue with about 250 slots. Their website says nothing about table gaming, so this is a good location for you if slots are your thing. Expect unique themes and games if you make the trip out this way.
Now that you know about their gaming options, you may be wondering what’s on the menu here?
Gatherings Restaurant is the key dining outlet here at St. Croix Casino Hertel and it features all-day dining with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
Set apart from the casino floor amid cooler colors, you’ll enjoy a relaxing atmosphere at Gatherings as you take a break from the adrenaline-pumping slots.
Best yet, they serve daily specials. From the website, their most popular discounted special occurs on Sunday with the Chef’s Choice. Other specials include Monday Mania, Taco Tuesdays, Stir Fry Nights, Shrimp Dinners, Fish Fry Fridays, and Prime Rib Saturdays.
Note that the above are just a few examples and they’re subject to change at any time. But it gives you a solid idea of what you will find at Gatherings.
And as with the Turtle Lake location, St. Croix Casino Hertel also has a vibrant entertainment scene. Their outdoor amphitheater is where it’s happening, and it seats up to 850 guests on the surrounding lawns. A few of these events are even free, depending on who’s invading the grounds for the evening.
Looking for a place to lodge?
They also have a trucker’s lounge. So if you’re a truck driver reading this post, why not head over to the trucker’s lounge following your latest day of work? They feature leather furnishings, Wi-Fi, big-screen televisions, shower, and laundry facilities.
You’ll also come across a couple of cool shops at St. Croix Casino Hertel. They have a Convenience Store that also includes fuel service. Besides the convenience store, they also have a smoke shop featuring tobacco products with prices that rival those of larger chains.
St. Croix Casino Danbury
St. Croix Casino Danbury is the last stop on our St. Croix Casino journey. We’ve covered the mid-sized Turtle Lake location and the smaller Hertel location. So let’s see what’s in store for us here in Danbury.
The Danbury location’s slot machine selection doubles that of what you’ll find in Hertel. Here, they have 500 of the hottest slot machines in the area, including new and classic themes.
Besides the slot machines, they also feature table games that include Vegas-style Roulette, Blackjack, and Craps. So if you’re into a wider selection of slot machine and table gaming, head on over to the Danbury location and you’ll get all the goods.
Danbury also offers more dining options than what you’ll find at Turtle Lake and Hertel, featuring four distinct outlets.
It all starts with the steakhouse, known as Waabani-Noodin, also known as East Winds. They feature steaks, chops, and seafood in the east dining room, providing a rich flair and fresh ingredients.
Zhaawani-Noodin, also known as the South Winds Buffet, offers rich fare from around the world. From farm-fresh salads to full entrees, and rich desserts, you can’t go wrong frequenting South Winds.
Gilwedi-Noodin, or the North Winds, is the grab and go deli option. If you’re looking for made to order soups and sandwiches that will get you back to the gaming floor in record time, look no further than the North Winds.
The West Winds Lounge comprises the last food and drink option. It’s the best place to unwind with their array of cocktails, beers, and fine wines after a long day of casino gaming. If you’re looking for the ultimate place in the area to relax, West Winds Lounge is it.
They also have a selection of entertainment options here. So if you’re in the area and wish to jam out to hot, local bands ready to catch their big break, you will find it right at the casino.
Along with the gaming, dining, and entertainment options, St. Croix Casino Danbury also boasts a fine selection of lodging options. In fact, you can take your pick whether you’d rather sleep in a bed or a tent.
Open from May 1st through October 15th, you’ll find this 45-site campground along the Yellow River, just before you reach the Wisconsin woodlands. It’ll become a fast favorite if you enjoy outdoor living.
But if you’d rather stay indoors, they also have a hotel with options that range from economy to luxury. Plus, their views overlook those woodlands, so you’re still getting a taste of nature even if you’re not immersed in it.
Choose from guest rooms to suites, and even high-roller suites featuring second-floor lofts. Customize your stay, and make it among the most memorable that you’ve ever received up in Northwest Wisconsin.
Enjoy Gambling at the St. Croix Casinos
As you can decipher, the St. Croix Casinos are smaller. Especially the Hertel location. However, if you’re looking for a more intimate experience in Wisconsin, these are the perfect places to experience the thrills of those larger, resort casinos in a much smaller setting.
These casinos are also a perfect stop if you’re looking to embark on a mini casino tour of the Northwest Wisconsin area. And best yet, they each feature different sizes, atmospheres, gaming options, plus a unique flair. None of these 3 casinos are exactly alike, even if you can spot a few similarities.
